Dave Bramwell makes different, interesting and hugely impressive model engines. Their display on the City of Sunderland society stand is a highlight not to be missed at Harrogate each year.

This one is a 6-cylinder four-stroke engine of 18cc capacity to Dave’s own design. Bores are 5/8in. and stroke is 9/16.

It features double overhead camshafts and 24 valves - gear driven. It is fitted with spark plugs, distributor and coil ignition. It was displayed in 2010 having run for a total of 12 hours. It showed some sign of increased backlash but that did not affect  its performance. To counter flash-over problems it was fitted with taller spark plugs.
