BRISTOL 2017 PREVIEW

This year will be the 16th Bristol Model Engineering and Model Making  Exhibition, which has grown year on year and has received enthusiastic reviews. With this growing popularity it is recommended that you book your tickets online to avoid the queues.

Each year there is a wide variety of models and related exhibits. Steam Traction engines and locomotives of various gauges. Electric locos, boats, cars, lorries, Meccano models, clocks, tools, remote control aircraft and helicopters with electric, internal combustion and even jet engine propulsion and many more. There really is something for everyone interested in model making and engineering. 3D printing is becoming more popular with the model maker and will be on show again in 2017.

This year’s special feature is the models of LBSC. There will also be a special display of model Bulleid locomotives.

Thornbury Leisure Centre is situated within easy reach of the M4/M5 interchange, just off the A38, 5 miles from either junctions 14 or 16 of the M5.

The exhibition takes place in three large halls and an outside display area. There is ample free parking and visitors are well provided for with catering facilities and bar.

The Leisure Centre is on the outskirts of the small town of Thornbury where many local amenities are available within walking distance. There is an hourly public bus service from Bristol Parkway Station to Thornbury on Friday and Saturday only - No. 77 bus. For those using Satellite Navigation systems the Post Code is BS35 3JB.
