Florence is the latest model designed and built by Martin Ranson. As with all his designs the steam plant is easily detachable from the hull. Like all his boats the finish is immaculate. That does not mean it never sees the water. He has videod it at water level using a camera attached to his paddle steamer. Martin is a regular contributor to modelling magazines where he is happy to share his knowledge and experience, including his well-known gas jet burner. Martin has recently retired and we look forward to seeing many more models. The immaculate Florence was awarded a Gold Medal at Sandown Park in 2009.
