Foden steam wagons are always popular exhibits at exhibitions, especially larger versions like this C-type flat bed in 4.5”  scale shown by Ian Cleaveley at the 2017 Bristol show, built to John Rex’s drawings. It is interesting that this is available from John Rex, ready made or for self-build. Kits in two scales are also available from another supplier. And another supplies castings for a small version.

Built for about ten years from 1922, Foden’s C-type was widely regarded as probably the best over-type steam wagon. Many were scrapped and today’s survivors are worth six figures (pounds stg).
