The Stuart beam engine has long been a favourite among model engineers with the Watts parallel motion making this engine fascinating to watch, particularly at slow speeds. It is also relatively simple to construct, with Stuart iron castings readily available in a kit complete with the other materials needed.
It is a manageable size to build and display. Flywheel is 7” dia and length 13”. Bore is 1” dia and stroke 2”.
This model was built by Richard Beel and shown at the Bristol Exhibition in 2016 by Julian Beel.
