MY WYVERN
ENGINE BUILD
Part one by Gerard Versluys
Edgar T Westbury’s design for the Wyvern is a water-cooled 40cc four-stroke, and was built to Julius de Waal’s metric drawings. First to be made were the skew (helical) gears, made in brass first and then xc48 steel (EN8 DINC45 US1045) using a special purpose tool.
More on making skew gears here.
